But it was only females.

Which is like so crazy because now there's not enough to sustain having a convention like that.

But like during the time it was so, so big, like the tattoo culture.

So it was not only like street shop, like female artists, but it was like traditional, like the hand inserted artisans who are female.

And the work was so high quality as well.

Yeah, so, um, there was, there was a tattoo boom.

So basically like what happened was like, um, um, and actually it was, it was less taboo then.

So I think it's actually getting worse.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Because there was a tattoo boom in the 2000s.

And so, um, so, and during the time there was so many magazines, it was like, and there was a tattoo convention almost on every single weekend.

It was like, it was crazy.

Like all the subcultures were really popping.

Like, it's really hard for me to explain how crazy Japan was.

Like it was before the tsunami, the 2011 tsunami, but there was like so much going on and it was like, not just, it was all the cultures parallel to tattoos.

So there was like the low riding scene and they'd have all the crazy bouncing cars and they would all get the black and gray tattoos, like, um, copying the Mexican Americans.

And then there'd be like, kind of like, um, more like the, what they call like oriental tattoos, but it's kind of like Tibetan inspired.

And there'd be like slightly hippie-ish backpacker types.

And then there'd be like, um, Americana, like, and so there was like a huge kind of like, um, the girls were like pinup girl kind of style and like, they're really into rockabilly music.

And then, um, and then there was like Japanese traditional on top of that.
