There needs to be an evolution with the group as a whole.
So I think the expectation of anybody that's going to come into this locker room and be a part of training camp has to accept the fact that
We will be evolving as a group.
It was a part of the conversations that we had prior to the hiring process.
And I fully understand the story there and I understand the positives and negatives of it.
But with so many things I've learned, it's a bit of a fool's errand to plan out things that quite haven't happened yet.
So if that situation were to happen, we'll cross that bridge when we get there.
very clear understanding in my household that first and foremost I am dad who also happens to be a professional hockey coach so when we are talking about hockey there's a decision by my kids if they want to talk to dad or coach so
We will continue to have that rule in my house.
It's served us well as a family.
It's kind of for both of you, maybe more for Ryan on this one.
Thinking about you guys as being former players, because this is the first time, other than when Pat Quinn held all three hats, this is the first time in team history that presidents...
GM and coach have all been former Canucks.
And I'm wondering if you think that matters.
I've always said in any role that I've had or encouraging other people that have played the game walking into the other side of the game is that as soon as you talk about, well, when I did this and when I did this, the wall goes up.
They don't want to hear that.
I think it gives us a sense of relatability and understanding.
