More likely though, this was uh was this reported citing some kind of strange, misguided attempt to draw public attention back to the environmental damage caused by the oil spill?

Until more more testimony is gathered, this one remains unverified.
You have a you have a some sort of craft five times the size of a supply ship which is large enough in itself, apparently rising up from the freaking Gulf of Mexico.
And as they say, there's a gulf there's an oil rig nearby, so you would think that there must be dozens of people who would have seen this.
yet we only have one report from uh the New Fork um of one chief engineer aboard this supply ship who actually saw it.
