So I really went down a rabbit hole to try to understand like what was going on in my brain. matched

Was this actually something new? matched

And was there anything bad about trying to get all this information into my brain? matched

And it turns out the word for it is infomania. matched

sort of compulsion to take in more information. matched

And it goes back centuries to the 13th century. matched

And there was worries that people would try to put too much information into their brains. matched

So many books. matched

And could I actually, because what I felt like I was doing, and maybe this sounds familiar to you, is like, sure, I could read all of these things or watch all these things or take it all in. matched

But then I was like, what am I actually doing with it? matched

Like, do I remember what I've read? matched

Am I making connections between them? matched

Am I processing it in a way that it's like getting stored in my memory and also I'm therefore applying it in my life? matched

And it just made me realize like, well, no, because I'm not a computer. matched

My brain is not infinite with RAM and I can't reboot to like when things go scrambled. matched

So for me, it turned into sort of an understanding of biologically and cognitively and physiologically over the last 10 years, like, matched

What is the human body capable of? matched

But I think we need to be smarter about how we take it in, how we synthesize it, and what our expectations are in terms of actually using all of this information. matched
