Yeah, look, I the justices made very clear they were rushing this case forward to have an impact in the 2026 midterm elections.
And what it means is that the Trump, you know, database, this this effort to build a voter suppression um uh tool will be available to states.
Uh a number of red states will grab it and and run with it.
Blue states will be resistant and likely be threatened by the Department of Justice with criminal investigations and harassment.
And then there will be individual county election officials who, in some places, will be caught between.
So I don't think Donald Trump did this because he is hoping that it will not lead to the disenfranchisement of a significant number of voters, right?
He didn't do this for onesies and twosies.
He did this because he hopes that it will make up for
or the fact that he's historically unpopular, that his party has nothing to run on.
And so I am worried, but I'm also resolved that we will we will use every tool available to prevent uh this uh disenfranchisement from happening.
Yeah, so the legal and political fight are kind of the same here.
Um the fact is what the what the Supreme Court did is said the federal government can proceed in developing and making this database available.
It did not bless wha how it is the states may use it.
And there is actually some back and forth, um, including in the dissent, where Justice Jackson says, you know, the bright side is that they can't use this for, you know, mass uh removals because it's too close to the election and federal law prohibits that.
Um, I certainly agree with her that that's what federal law says.
I certainly agree with her that red states, if they tried to do that, would be violating federal law and they will get sued and they will lose.
Uh, but look, there is
Is a case in the US Supreme Court that'll be heard later this year on the merits that my law firm, you know, uh represented the plaintiffs initially in.
