Unfortunately, you know, even Zach Belzuck I thought was a much better player away from Kirby Doc when he was playing with uh with Deneau on Saturday in in pockets.
Unfortunate and again, I I I'm not also trying to hit on on Kirby Doc, but the lack of urgency and the lack of uh assertiveness impacts the entire chemistry of his line and those that play with him unfortunately suffer.
And I don't disagree with that.
I I I I agree.
And to uh shed a little bit more light on it, I think it has to do with the defensive
pride in which uh he wants Zach Beldzuk to play in.
And because Martin Saint Louis offense is kind of predicated on quick counterattack, you have to be strong in the defensive zone.
You have to be able to jump on loose pucks.
You have to force turnovers.
You have to play strong to your z to the to the man that you're covering.
А when the puck becomes loose, then you go.
And and you start the counterattack.
You don't cheat the counterattack, which is what
Yeah, players and Martin Saint Louis unfortunately had problems with when it came to Bulzuk early last year.
There was improvement in the playoffs because there you saw that.
But again, consistency, that's what it is at this level.
And unfortunately, if you're gonna have more than a bottom six role, that consistency has to be there.
I I I wanna add.
I was uh I was just gonna add, you know, one of the things that Marty did with Cole, even when the defensive play wasn't there, he didn't pull away the offense.
