I mean, this is really an unprecedented moment for people here in Spain.
Officials saying the Ávila fire, which has been burning west of Madrid, is the largest fire ever recorded here in the country.
We're talking about more than 135,000 acres have burned at the start of this week.
It's truly extraordinary.
We were west of Madrid yesterday and were in a town where police had set up a roadblock.
They weren't allowing anyone to pass that roadblock because parts of the Avila fire, they said, had flared back up again.
And they're saying, get out.
You talk about all of the people who've been displaced from their homes.
I mean, the numbers are extraordinary.
More than 300,000 people told to leave their homes in parts of Spain and also France.
Everyone expects there to be, you know, some wildfires here in Europe, but usually it's later on in the summer.
Certainly not this soon and also not this intense.
We were at a shelter, so some shelters have been set up for displaced families.
And we talked to a number of people who said that they got these messages on their phones last week telling them they needed to evacuate.
And they also described how police went down through their neighborhoods door to door trying to get people out right away.
So that initial evacuation, by all accounts, was quite fast for a lot of people, urgent.
They didn't have a lot of time to grab their things.
