It's not fun, you know.
And so I was teaching cooking.
I was consulting.
Someone hired me to do all the consulting for their restaurants and menus, and I worked.
My ex-husband, who we're still very good friends, and we owned at one point six restaurants, including Gage and Tolner.

I was there for Gail Simmons' birthday party.
And I kept saying, everyone's like, what's wrong with you?
I said, well, I used to own this place.
It's so weird.
That is crazy.
Being here.
In either case, people started asking me if I could do events outside of the places I was working.
The very first one was I put an ad in New York Magazine, and some very kind person hired me for probably $10, and I planned a wedding at a loft in the West Village.
So you went out of the park with weddings?
Corporate events and weddings, but the very first one was a wedding.
Wow.
What year was your first wedding, Marcy?
86.
