He has this like backwater agency called the Commerce Department, which didn't really do anything except for it was the beginning of the Roaring Twenties.

And he thought,

huh, well, there's these new frequencies, perhaps radio.

We can grab radio and television.

He's the first person to appear on television.

His image is the first image of a face to be transmitted through television waves.

So when they tell you that it's FDR who's the first president on television, actually, Hoover was the first president on television, but he wasn't president at the time.

Sorry, there's always little quibbles with FDR's legacy.

But yeah, so he really, I mean, he's the, he standardizes industry essentially, which allows for a housing boom, which allows, when I say standardizes industry, I mean, we all take for granted that two by fours all come in the same dimensions and we take for granted that bricks are all in the same dimensions.
