When it came to sexual assault charges, football players had the same protection.

Coach Bryles never reported it, never alerted anyone that his players might have committed a gang rape.

The goal was to keep his players away from judicial affairs at all costs.

By the time the case went to trial in January 2014, the picture was devastating for Tevin.

Four other women came forward and testified that he had assaulted them too.

The jury deliberated for less than an hour.

Tevin was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

You'd think that would have been a massive story.

A starting player on one of the country's top football programs convicted on multiple counts of sexual assault.

But it barely registered in the news.

Part of the reason may have been what was happening on the field.
