I think that this means that a lot of the parental controls at both of these companies and that social media companies writ large claim to impose as a way to kind of combat mental health harms and parental concerns are not enough.

And one of the main things that these trials showed the public was internal documents showing how company executives, particularly at Meta, knew that their products could harm young users and decided to roll out these features anyway.

And so this was kind of what led ultimately to this jury of 12 people.

You know, 10 out of the 12 people agreed that both of these companies were negligent and they did knowingly harm these young users.

This is only the first bellwether case, and it could lead to thousands of more cases.

There's 2,000 plus cases that are going on in California that could ultimately lead to higher financial penalties and consequences, not only for these two companies, but also for TikTok and for Snapchat, who are also involved in these cases.

So we're watching out to see if they settle or if they continue on.

But in terms of the actual products changing, I would look to New Mexico.

So we recently got another finding where Meadow was found, again, to be negligent, $375 million charge there.

The beginning of May, a new hearing is going to take place specifically to tackle the issue of product changes.

You have the New Mexico Attorney General, the person who brought on this case, looking for the end of encrypted messages to real age verification.

So these are the types of product changes that we could potentially see.

Well, I think we have 2,000 plus cases to watch for.

I will be watching to see if, you know, the big tobacco moment was one big moment.

This is kind of, you know, little by little, we're going to see what it all amounts to.

But it's a real change.

It's the first time that these social media companies are being treated as products and not speech.

And so this new legal theory was tested and it kind of sets the stage, too, for congressional action.
