And so something like a raid and, you know, to capture a foreign president.
You know, the all lawful purposes standard that the Pentagon is pushing right now is quite broad on its face.
You would think, well, if it's legal, then it's OK.
But, you know, one of Anthropocene's red lines is this concept of mass surveillance.
Right now, it is legal for the government to collect publicly available data on Americans.
That includes social media posts.
concealed carry permits, whether or not you attended a rally or a protest, voter rolls.
And you can see how the Pentagon could use artificial intelligence to continuously and quickly use all of that data to target and surveil Americans, and that would fall under all legal use.
And so the Pentagon is not specifically saying we want to surveil Americans, but this would theoretically allow them to, and Anthropic just doesn't want to take that risk.
