But, you know, unfortunately, it's just, you know, where they are in the standings and the fact that they're a month out from the trade deadline, you know, it might be a little bit too late.

But I think that this is, you know, they are starting to show kind of what the front office thought they could be at the beginning of the year.

Yeah, I mean, honestly, all the credit kind of goes to him.

I think that it was something that he was really motivated to try to improve on.

You know, when he went into the offseason as a free agent, you know, the Padres didn't extend him a qualifying offer.

Like, he had, you know, multi-year offers from other teams to kind of stay in that role that he had had in San Diego, which is more like first base DH.

But he decided to bet on himself and take that one-year deal from the Giants because they were the team that were willing to kind of give him the opportunity to reestablish himself at second base, which is his natural position.

So I think he just kind of went into the offseason really motivated to kind of prove people wrong.

And he started working with one of his personal trainers in Miami over the offseason, Raynal Ometo.

And then I think that he kind of carried that momentum into spring training when he got a chance to work with Ron Washington.

And

Yeah, I mean, you see him every day kind of out there doing those drills.

So I think it's just kind of a testament to his willingness and his hunger to just get better and show that he can still be a plus defender out there.

And so it's truly been a revelation.

You know, when you combine kind of that improved defense with just what he's able to do at the plate, he's really turned himself into one of the most valuable position players

in the league this year.

So it really is not surprising to see him be rewarded with his fourth career All-Star nod this year.
