I'm not pushing anything onto her.

She can kind of make some mistakes first as well.

Same with my little brother.

I don't tell him what to do.

But I think or I hope that over time, he will come to me when he's like, oh, I have zero in the bank.

He's 70 right now.

He definitely has zero in the bank as he should.

But no, I'm not kind of like forcing my way into their finances.

Because even though they are like my family,

I do think boundaries are very important.

And at the end of the day, one, I'm not their parent.

And two, I can trust that I'm welcoming enough where they can come to me when they need me.

That's a great question.

So it's something I've struggled with.

It's something that I know my family, my friends, first gen friends struggle with.

And I also do money coaching.

And it's also something that my clients struggle with a lot.

I think it's going to be an ongoing struggle that

everyone faces but like first gens especially what I would say is like spending saving it's not all or nothing so I think a lot of us think of like saving is good spending is bad or saving is bad as in like I don't want to do it and spending is good I think that's all I want to do and then we like

categorize ourselves you know it unconsciously as like savers or spenders and then also we go back and forth on it like I've had periods in my life when I have identified as like a hardcore saver and I will judge myself and anyone who's like spending on
