things that they don't need and then I've also had my like spending hardcore spender seasons when I'm like YOLO you know like I'm only gonna be 29 once and I am not going to just like hoard all my money in the bank like Jeff Bezos I think we like can fall into this dichotomy I guess but really we just have to think about saving and spending as like two levers that you can just
push and pull as you go basically so like if this month you are saving a lot that's great it doesn't mean that now you like must save become like a hardcore saver your whole life and then same with like spending so I would say like on the day-to-day you just want to make sure that you remind yourself that there should be balance and
And that it's okay to be an imperfect saver, an imperfect spender.
It's never going to be the case that you have to be the ultimate saver, the ultimate spender.
And you can always change your mind and dial back the saving, dial back the spending, up the saving, up the spending based on your financial goals, based on your budget, based on your current finances, like your income and your expenses.
So that's how I approach it because I've just been so susceptible to like seeing it as black and white, like I'm either this or that, I'm either right or wrong.
That can really limit you.
No, you're no, you're so right.
I had not thought about it that way.
And but you are so right that part of the reason it's such a struggle is because if you grew up poor,
you didn't have the choice of balance.
And it was black and white.
And so breaking out of that mindset of, yeah, saving is good, spending is bad, or vice versa, like, it's a bit of rewiring that you have to do.
But yeah, it's that that is definitely like the thing to remember when you're struggling with either saving or spending is it's not all or nothing.
And hopefully people listening to this, like you said, are at a place where they do have the wiggle room to tone it up, dial it down as needed.
Absolutely.
So it's been a pleasure.
