So he has really been thoughtful and a leader for obviously nationally in his seat as a congressman, but also for the state of Georgia, um, simply by recognizing that workforce is a strategic issue and not simply an education issue.

Uh the act is the Biotech Workforce Alignment Act, I believe.

That's right.

Tell me if I'm wrong.

And it was introduced in May with Representative Kana.

And so it really, as I understand, would direct NSF to align biotech research priorities with workforce development efforts and strengthen education industry government partnerships, which is wonderful to see because we always hear public-private partnerships and

and all of that.

But sometimes the the uh the funding doesn't come out with that um how do I put it's

uh with that workforce aspect of it.

Called out as as critically as we need it.

So it's it was introduced with a companion bill focused on assessing federal biotech workforce needs, which um is really important.

So um I'll I'll uh I'll also do a plug for the Life Sciences Workforce Collaborative, which is um builds off of a coalition that's been around for over a decade.

Uh that myself and some colleagues founded um uh in the early 2000s, mid-late 2000 uh

And um

Uh, we're really trying to bring community together around um workforce and talent needs and we're getting ready to do our national life sciences workforce industry uh study.

And we do that every two years.

So every two years we roll out a bio.

So next year at Bio 2027, we'll roll out the latest workforce um trends report.

It's the only national workforce trends document that is created uh nationally, and we work with bio and
