But one of the interesting things that one of the prosecutors mentioned during one of the hearings was that David did have a lot of child porn in his iPhone.
So whether or not Celeste was involved in those child porn images, we're not sure.
But that did come out in open court that he did have tons of child porn in his iPhone.
I get asked that question a lot.
But, you know, investigations like this take a very, very long time.
And it never happens as quickly as you see on TV.
All of a sudden, by the next commercial, they have the trial wrapped up.
That rarely happens.
So the detectives had to obviously gather evidence, write up search warrants.
They also had to wait for Celeste's autopsy results to determine the matter and cause of death.
And then from there, they can also figure out who else they need to subpoena.
So that all takes a lot of time.
And also before David was arrested, the L.A.
County DA's office presented the case to a grand jury.
And so they were still actively investigating him while this whole grand jury hearing was happening.
So they were sending out subpoenas to family, friends and relatives.
And also, David was actually not indicted by this grand jury, but he was instead formerly charged by the DA's office.
And that's when he appeared for his arraignment.
And again, he's been charged with first-degree murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14, unlawful mutilation of human remains, and special circumstance that he allegedly killed Celeste for financial gain to prevent her from exposing their relationship.
Obviously, he has pled not guilty so far.
