Appearances
that have been on their list for numerous years that have just, for whatever reason, you mentioned Borlase.
Borlase was delisted and re-rookied.
And so he's had a phenomenal season.
He's keeping Butts and Murray out of the side.
So, yeah, they've had a really nice last six or seven weeks since the bye.
Yeah, and the big one for me is the centre clearance.
When they've done that well, that covers a little bit of a lack of transitioning because they get that territory themselves.
And it was played out last night.
They lost the first two centre clearances and Sydney had two goals because they couldn't get out of their back half, Adelaide.
But then they started to get themselves organised in the middle and they got the next three clearances and they scored the next five goals of the match.
And then in the last quarter, when it was all going terribly in the third,
Jordan Dawson came out and had the first two clearances and they scored two goals.
So it's hard to overstate how important their centre square is.
I thought Pete Ling was excellent last night.
And as I mentioned in the opener, Isaac Rankin, who has been a forward who pinch hits in the midfield this year, has transitioned into becoming a full-time midfielder.
He was not there in the finals last year.
He's doing more sort of...
normal midfield stuff, which is actually getting back into the back half of the ground as opposed to just the bursting out of stoppage and doing the flashy stuff.
So I think his midfield craft has improved.
They've put a lot of work into that.
