There's no protected class of of tattoos or tattooed uh tattooed people.

It's only when

uh the tattoo crosses the border into the area of of a religious practice is when it really um really becomes an issue for employers.

And and that that was the case in the uh

the the Red Robin case, there was a um

fellow who was hired as a server.

And he followed

uh an ancient religion that required him to get these

uh tattoos

around his wrists which contain liturgical verses of some sort.

And and I've seen pictures of 'em, you know, very very unobtrusive, not really a b a big deal.

And according to his religion

he was not allowed to cover these up.

Well, he get he gets hired at Red Robin.

And for the first six months there's no issue.

I mean, customers don't complain, uh management doesn't complain, there's no problem, even though

uh Red Robin had a had a dress code policy that uh forbade um

open display of tattoos.

And

Then a new manager comes, he sees them, he says, Cover those up.
