Well, let me tell you what my analysis is kind of having a front row seat.
Two years ago, when we filed the habeas corpus, two years ago this month,
there there was a phenomena which i called the tick tock effect there was a new generation of people don who were not as old as you and certainly not as old as me who were on tick tock who had been familiarized with what had happened and i don't know the genesis of that but they understood
that something that was inconceivable in the 90s, basically father on son sexual abuse, was something they understood.
I mean, one of the constant refrains I heard was if they were the Menendez sisters, they wouldn't be sitting there.
And I wholeheartedly agree.
I remember trying a battered woman syndrome murder case in 1994 in LA County, winning that case and thinking at the time, this is so strange that my client could win, get a manslaughter and get probation.
But these guys couldn't use it because they were children and the law did not allow them to use it or because they were not wives or spouses.
Children were thought of that this couldn't happen.
Because they're not women, right?
I think they do.
I think it's somewhat amazing to them and it's amazing to me.
You saw in that clip when you set it up, one of the reasons I hate doing post-conviction work is it's such a heavy lift, at least at the trial level.
You have jurors, you have judges.
I think you've got a lot more
flexibility.
In a post-conviction world, almost every dispute goes to the government.
The government always has the edge.
I will tell you, let me just give you kind of a setup to that, because one of the witnesses we called was a gentleman, Andre Brown, who goes by the name X-Rated.
He changed his life.
