In terms of our partners, I haven't had any formal dialogue with them.

They are aware that this is coming down the pipeline.

I chose to bring this to you in advance to give you some runway and prepare you for what we are about to take on.

But certainly as we get closer, as Zach mentioned, there is not a penny shortage in Mecklenburg County today.

but we don't wanna wait till we get to that point.

So the same information that he shared with you from North Carolina GFOA and the School of Government, our peers and partners have that same information as well.

So hopefully they're considering that, but that's the dialogue that I'll be having with our city manager and other partners at the appropriate time.

It'll be the county.

The county will account for that and we would keep that because again, it's associated with this new policy that's coming into place.

For the fund services, just like all the other revenue that we receive when folks are paying their property taxes, that support county operations.

Well, I don't have any projections.

But certainly a part of this will be a communication plan to make sure that the public has an awareness of not only what we're doing, but more importantly, why we're doing it.

Well, that's the roundup.

That's what Zach was pointing out.

If it's two cents, it's going to be round up to five cents because we no longer have the pennies to return and change.

The 18 cent will be rounded up to 20 cents.

The additional two cents will be retained by the county as a result of this policy and this action that the federal government is taking, but not minting any more pennies.
