Let's start with the first row.
Today, our CRCs are averaging again between 400 and 440 customers per day at each site.
Moving to the second row, federal policy changes are expected to increase recertifications and work requirement activity, pushing daily demand to approximately 440 to 480 customers beginning in January 2027.
And that's about a 10% increase.
Going to the third row, showing our population growth,
Mecklenburg County is projected to approach one and a half million residents by 2040, which could increase daily CRC utilization to roughly 570 to 620 customers per day per site.
I want to note this is actually similar to our current peak day volumes that we've seen, for example, just last week.
And in the last row, and perhaps most importantly, historical recessions like the Great Financial Crisis have dramatically increased participation in safety net programs.
A recession may occur during any of the first three scenarios presented on this slide.
For example, if a recession were to begin in the next few months, our average daily CRC customer volumes could exceed 600 visits per site.
If a recession occurred after expected population growth, say in the mid 2030s or 2040, our average daily CRC volumes could increase to more than 800 customers per day at each site.
While these scenarios vary, they do all point in the same direction that demand for CRC and HHS services is likely to continue to grow over time with our county.
On this slide, we're moving from projected demand to capacity planning.
The first column lists the two operational CRCs at VCW and EBS and the final three planned CRC locations in the east, southwest, and northwest of the county.
The second column shows our current average daily lobby volume from January through May, 2026.
Again, VCW is averaging 400 customers, EBS around 440.
The third column shows the highest peak day volumes we've experienced through May of this fiscal year, with VCW reaching 541 customers and EBS reaching 600 customers in a single day.
And the fourth column shows what CRC peak days could look like with just 10% growth.
And under this scenario, our highest days would begin being 600 customers at VCW and 660 at EBS, well over 1,200 customers total.
So in a way, this just shows the data a little bit different than on the previous slide.
