And I don't know whether you felt the same way, but the level of smoke inhalation and heroin injection did make me start to feel physically quite unwell.
Because you think, how can the human body continue to survive under these circumstances?

What an absolutely brilliant summation of it.
At times, it reminded me a little bit of... There was a film that Anton Corbin made, Life, which was about the period in which
Dennis Stock and James Dean travel back to Indiana to do that sort of famous photograph.
And that's really what happens.
Apparently nothing happens, but that's quite an important thing.
And
This is a film in which not much happens, but a lot happens under the surface.
Incidentally, it's worth mentioning that Adam and Paul, which is that film I mentioned earlier on in relation to the screenwriter here, takes a lot of inspiration from Waiting for Godot, which of course was famously described as a play in which nothing happens twice.
And I think in an odd way, that description sort of applies here as well.
It appears that not much is happening, but there is a lot happening under the surface.
And I said, the most monumental moments in the movie are a scene that you talked about in which they listened to a record and the scene in which his parents upstairs hear their son for the first time in a long time, start to play the piano again.
