I think probably because um you know uh we should have done a lot better at school.

Um and so, you know, we just uh when you don't, you know you got one option, it's just to work, you know, or go and do things and so they were real workers but uh yeah, they were proud.

Yeah, definitely, yeah.

You know, I think they were stoked uh what we all did and and how we rolled.

For the people on the island it was just a real monotone uh bunch of words that were comforting uh, you know, these people.

Just hey, just stand by I'm just gonna clear your mouth out and just um wipe all the dust off, I'll put a mask on you, you know, and just ask them a couple of quick questions and then I said, Right, I'll be back and we move and move move move.

When I got to the boys, Tommy and Jace, when they turned up, I was like, Right boys, this is what's up.

Uh this is uh what I've seen.

Uh this is what we need to do.

And uh we're just gonna wait for the rescue machines to come here and then we'll just uh we're gonna help them get these people off.

Okay, so and I told them where everyone was, um where one is a guy out but outlying and uh it was one um person in the in the stream at that stage.

So so those guys I said get your gas masks, get your get take some water and uh we'll we're gonna go and take care of people uh and get

Get around as as many people as you can, be aware that some people dead and dying.

So that was the plan and then they just grabbed the gear and then tr followed me across and then they just they went on their own programme.

Yeah, yeah.

So then once uh Johnny told me John Finell told me that, um then I just uh gripped the boys up and said, Right, um, no one's coming.

So this is what we're gonna do.
