This is uh what I've seen.

Uh this is what we need to do.

And uh we're just gonna wait for the rescue machines to come here and then we'll just uh we're gonna help them get these people off.

Okay.

So uh and I told them where everyone was, um where one is a guy out but outlying and uh it was one um person in the in the stream at that stage.

So so those guys are

So I said, get your gas mask, get your get take some water and uh we'll we're gonna go and take care of people uh and get around as as many people as you can and uh be aware there's some people dead and dying.

So um so that was the plan and then they just grabbed the gear and then trolled me across and then they just they went on their own program.

Yeah, yeah.

So then once uh Johnny told me John Finell told me that, um then I just uh gripped the boys up and said, Right, um, no one's coming.

Yeah.

So this is what we're gonna do.

So I said, Jace, you're gonna go and get your helicopter and I said we're gonna um land, you're gonna come and you're gonna land on this little piece, uh, right amongst the majority of people.

So little wee tiny little knoll and I said, You need to land right there and I said, Because it's gonna be too hard to carry people.

over big distances, you know, and uh I had picked someone up and tried to move them and and it was it was bloody hard work 'cause we could hardly breathe through those old gas masks with one filter.

Okay.

And if you took it off you could do about two or three gas and then boom, you blew out, put it back on.

So that that that whole exercise just trying to, you know, breathe and work was gonna be slow.

So um so Jace brought the machine up straight in, um, out of a dust storm.
