and and the nature of this where the location of where this uh community would be.
And it's gonna generate according to the um
The planning commission, six thousand vehicle trips a day, and it's pretty clear that or it's I should say it's a pretty reasonable a s assumption that at least a majority of those vehicle trips are people that would be, like most working people in the D C area, would be heading east to their destination of employment.
But there they are tucked on the wrong side of the battlefield.
On the west side.
And the only, you know, secondary arterial road they'll have to get to their destination would be Featherbed, which is a north south road.
And so as soon as they get out of their driveways, they're heading onto a road that's going not in the direction that of their destination.
So this is the kind of thing that is
not smart growth.
It's not an appropriate type of way to develop things because it it inevitably creates all kinds of circuitous driving patterns and we know what that does.
We creates the traffic that we all have around here.
Um and the thing is that
You know, I looked at what the planning commission had said and and they looked at they did their job.
They did an objective
uh assessment of the criteria that they're supposed to look at and they came to the right conclusion.
It's an inappropriate development in an inappropriate area.
Um so you know it's it's kind of the same sort of thing we've been dealing with in Prince William for a long time and it's kind of easy for any given board at any given time to sort of think sort of short term and say, well this is just one development or something.
But for those of us who have been around for thirty years, we know that it's the cumulative effect
of many wrong decisions that creates a lowering of the quality of life for everybody, not just the people right near these kinds of developments, but everybody else.
