So one big turning point was we're kind of prosecuting this war.

We're kind of doing our best with vehicle and foot insertions.

And then the –

the Obama administration is looking at how they're going to seize control back over Afghanistan.

So they kind of worked on Iraq in 2007.

They'd done a surge there of troops and largely kind of stabilized it a bit.

They wanted to replicate that in Afghanistan.

And it was, I mean, it was kind of too late, but they flooded the place with an extra, I think it was 30 to 50,000 troops.

But the most important thing is they bought a lot of,

uh, mobility assets.

So helicopters, uh, drones, things that can move you around the battlefield and get you into areas that were previously, you can only get there by vehicle.

It's bad terrain to get, uh, go through choke points and get bombed.

Yeah.

So by that point, this new level of mobility arrived and we also had, uh,

more advanced targeting capabilities.

So for example, if someone was carrying a mobile phone, it was much easier to find them.

We had some of those capabilities in our task force, whereas before we kind of didn't.

So we've got extra mobility, better targeting capabilities.

So we effectively, we started to build out and we followed the Americans because they were doing

what they call counter-leadership operations.
