But, you know, with these two guys pitted against each other, it goes to show you what do the Raiders –
you know, what will benefit them the most.
So say you pick a defensive minded coach in Shula, that'll start to look kind of like D'Amico Ryan's as far as not, you know, assuming the kind of success that they're starting to have, but a defensive minded coach, you know, the culture is going to be more tough minded in that sense.
It'll be a defense first team, but you have to be prepared for your offensive play callers, coordinators, quarterback coaches, um,
you hope that there's tons of success, but you have to then prepare for them to then get higher away.
You've talked about this before.
And so there's like, you know, obviously you don't want to put the cart before the horse, but there is a level of art.
This is a defensive head coach.
He is going to be picking coordinators, offensive coordinators.
Most times he's probably calling the defense or as a heavy hand in the defense, he'll be grooming and picking up office coordinators with the hope that if they're super successful, they're going to get plucked.
That happens a little bit differently when it's an offensive head coach.
Think Sean Payton's and most of the modern guys, the Shanahan tree, the big Bay tree, where they are the, have their hands on the offense, the heavy thump.
And, you know, whether Collins plays directly or they're, they have their hand in the game plan on the opposite side, which happens less often, just the way that modern football is.
a defensive young coach, a coordinator, are more likely to stick around or you're more likely to build through them.
Or you get a guy who just maybe hasn't worked as a head coach, kind of like a Spags or something, where you feel like there's a way to –
guarantee some stability at that position.
Not saying any of that happens every single time, but that is kind of the thought process.
If you're the Raiders, do you want an offensive-minded guy who you develop a certain kind of culture that's more defensive, we're going to win earlier, draft capital will go to defense a little earlier, and then vice versa, an offensive-minded guy who's like, oh, this is our scheme, he's going to have maybe quarterback coaches who get promoted and go off, but
