It was just a few days ago, but
You know, what we do as weather experts and climate experts is we are detectives.
We're looking at what happens with weather and climate, and we just have to provide objective information.
Governing bodies, international panels, and so forth have a role to play.
But I try to just keep my focus on providing sound guidance and sound information for policymakers and decision makers.
Look, climate change.
Is the crisis of a generation and generations to come.
And we are seeing the DNA in today's weather, in today's hurricanes, heat waves, and floods.
And so we need action.
Someone will have to take action.
So it was been interesting to see the decision, but my goal and my role has not changed and I'm unwavering in it.
No, i exactly.
I think the challenge we face with climate change and the messaging that we face is that people have experience with the weather.
I have a friend that's in physics and they never get asked about nuclear engineering, but people live the weather.
Yes.
And they know it and they have these sort of perceptions and narratives about it.
Oh yeah, it's just he a a hot day or oh sure, I've lived through that hurricane.
But we know that on the extreme end
of all spectrums of weather, we're seeing increased frequency and intensity of events.
And unfortunately what worries me, Allie, about that is that those benchmarks that people have in the past haven't prepared them for current and future storms.
