We've done that a bit with footy.

We're obsessed with who we get you know, our clubs getting in the draft next year and who we're trading for and we sort of miss the moment.

Do you do you see what I mean about that?

That's why I think this book was when I was asked to do it, uh I think it was well timed because we have lost a little bit of perspective, I think.

In in short.

Um so I did when I did my fifty, I had Boomer Harvey as one of the chapters.

Boomer Harvey breaking the all time games record a few years ago.

I wrote that, it was in.

I I could see Pendlebury looming, so I I warned the publisher uh that this could happen.

And there was a possibility at one point, 'cause the book was meant to be printed before Pendlebury broke that record at the M C G so

There was a chance that we were gonna have a book there with

A chapter on Boomerave breaking the all-time record when it was totally out of date.

So I warned them of it.

I went off on a holiday golfing in Vietnam, and of course, it got to within one he got with within one game.

And then there was all that debate that you mentioned about resting, you know, he rested and making sure that he did it at a home game for Collingwood.

So I ended up borrowing someone's laptop while I was in Vietnam and writing a

piece about pendles and sending it through with a few gaps for them to fill in.

You know, I had to fill in the gaps about what actually happened on the night.

So I wrote it before he wrote the record, broke the record.

Um but I you know I do love uh the way that Scott Pendlebury plays and he fitted this book perfectly because one of the one of the reasons I do love footy is because of the different athletes that play it.
