You got very conscious of your strengths and your weaknesses, what you were good at, what you weren't good at, what you needed to improve on.

I remember my first one I went to, it was a man on a bridge.

And just as I pulled up, I went, this is for real.

We're in Temple Moor, we had a man on a roof.

But he was never going to jump off.

Yeah, yeah.

But this was, this was for real.

Yeah.

You know, so you had that, but no, the training kicked in now and some of the techniques they gave us really worked.

I mean, first one, and that gave me a lot of confidence then that's, oh yeah, what they provided you with, the knowledge and the wee techniques, yeah, to do work.

Yeah.

The aim is always the same to get the person, get them talking to you, get them listening to you and get them from the situation.

They're out safely and everybody else safely.

So if they're in personal danger themselves, if they're on a roof, even in a locked door, some people, I think that one or two had people that they had in the house with them.

So the whole objective was safety.
