And when you then add making late decisions, you become very, very hard to stop.
And this works not only on individual level, but also on team tactical level.
Like we said about Leverkusen, that you never know whether they attack through the middle or through the wing, and we cannot close both things at the same time.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah, I like that.
Also like the idea of saying like fiend everything, that just a basic idea is that no matter what we do on the pitch, before we do it, we make a deception before.
So whenever we want to play a pass...
we turn our body to show them that we are going to play a different pass.
Whenever we take a touch, before that, we make a little movement with the shoulder, with the hip, to show that we are going to take the touch in a different direction.
So everything happens from deceiving.
I think that's a really nice idea that I really would like to put into practice.
I think that's really strong and I think that should be, especially when you educate players, when you're working in youth football, younger ages, I think that should be an absolute key concept that should be consistently asked for.
And that sounds maybe very, very...
impractical and not very football related on first glance for somebody but if you actually go down and analyze situations like if you analyze the most beautiful goals happening if you analyze the best actions happening where opponents are actually like outplayed in a way that you would not expect then these it's always the case and not always obviously but it's very often the case that this works because defenders are
uh have their attention somewhere else so like a striker moves behind the midfielder and the midfielder doesn't recognize that he's there or he thinks i need to defend something else um and then they don't recognize that they that this can that this can happen it's very it's very very obvious when you really look deeply because i think on the tactics board you're very very very little
you very quickly come to the conclusion that certain things are not possible because like you see okay here's a defender so we cannot play there because there is a defender but in practice that's not the case so you can be like just really good in for example dribbling and then um just you
kill the defender with your dribbling but it's also the case that sometimes the defenders are not defending what they should do and this this is is much more happening when the situation is a little bit more complex a little bit more chaotic a little bit more dynamic and uh this is really the probably the what i would call the major downside
The major downside of a positional play that really wants the players to keep their structure as it is.
That it's very simple for the opponent to have their attention towards the correct opponent.
The defenders individually...
