So if you look at this trade war environment we're talking about, it will look very, very threatening to Europe.
He does look very, very threatening to Europe.
And one of the really big questions is do we go with American trade policies or do we actually try and say, actually, well, um China might be the least bad market we have.
We'd better try and get close to them.
Well I don't know how that plays.
I think European companies will response will be what any sensible company is will do all of the above.
That is to say, we will you know we don't make the rules.
These are the rules.
We will exploit every opportunity there is.
And th so that means the European market, the American market, the Chinese market, and any other market we can look at.
India, whatever.
Uh so I think they will try to be
Quite Catholic, but it will probably mean less exports and more investment in your market will go back to a more fragmented world, which will itself impose costs.
Now, the governments, of course, have uh uh uh share interests with their companies, of course they do, but they also have are concerned about employment in Europe, and there's lots of right-wing.
sentiment in Europe, partly because we'll people are also losing jobs that have been losing jobs and the economies are weaker.
So they won't want to see uh um uh certainly they won't want imports to come in to f further to squeeze uh the domestic market, which is why I think the Trump Trump tariffs are likely to lead uh to similar tariffs in other parts of the world.
In this situation, I think a lot of what will happen is just fragmented fragmentation.
The the industries will become more self-sufficient in the continents they're in.
Uh foreign they will try and invest in each market if they're allowed to do so.
Probably Mercedes will be allowed to invest in America.
