If this brand was conceived, nurtured, grown, and brought to a point where somebody wanted to acquire it by a woman that I'm not saying it has to be a female energy that went to it, but there is a component to that, why not continue it?
Why is it that when the outside expertise is sought more times than not,
It is sought from men.
I take my hat off big time to the people at Rourke who turn around and say, hey, there are some great women talent.
Again, two that I had mentioned before.
When you look at the likes of Katherine Monson and Kat Cole, you can turn around and say, yes, they understand that it is the talent that will out, not the gender.
And I would prefer to believe, because I just would prefer to believe in the good in everyone, that a lot of this is because men have been networking with their peers, with other men, and so they know more people who are men who would fit into the CEO role.
But I would ask everyone, I would challenge those people, the founders, when they're looking to hire into it, when new investors are coming in, expand your search.
there are some incredible women out there who would be great.
You know, I don't know the statistics within those segments, but –
Even if those two business sectors were to be reflective of the general statistics, we all have room for improvement.
But you challenged me in our conversation on Saturday, Paul.
It was basically a challenge about affirmative action.
I don't think we need to make room and promote people simply because of their gender.
It really has to be on merit.
So if you want to turn, if I'm saying don't promote someone just because they're a woman, you need to turn around and say, well, I'm also not going to promote somebody just because they're a guy.
And I hope, I mean, I really hope we are past the point in this society where you have people who are saying, I'm not going to promote or make an opportunity for that woman because she's in childbearing years and I don't want to invest in her and she's going to go off and have kids.
there are ways to balance that.
There are a lot of husbands that are quite happy to stay home and raise the kids while their wives are out making their careers.
There are other options.
