And everything seems to be a little more equal now.
And I'm thinking that that will really be the great equalizer, time.
Time is going to do it.
But I don't say to anybody, hey, let's back off and not see what we can do to make gains for women, particularly women pay.
If I might, I think I told you the other day, Paul, that I did an informal study a couple of years ago.
It was right after Sheryl Sandberg's book came out.
And I wanted to get a feel for how women were doing in franchising.
And unfortunately, Fran Data was able to tell me nobody was tracking that that
had.
They didn't have any real data.
So I grabbed the list of people coming to the convention.
And we all have lots of weird titles these days.
So I kind of took it from vice president and above.
then broke all of those.
I did not track the franchisees.
But I did look at the difference between franchisors and suppliers.
And what I found is that we are a reflective microcosm of the entire business world.
Our statistics were just about the same, trending a little better for women than general businesses.
And we saw more women executives on the supplier side than we saw on the franchisor side.
And when I look through some of the brands, what I see is that, like myself, there are a lot more women who are starting their own businesses on the supplier side, and there's an anomaly that seems to happen on the franchisor side, that there are some amazing founders of companies who were women, but somehow when they are purchased or when they are expanded, it is men that get put into the leadership seats and not other women.
