That said, the women we have in leadership and franchising, man, I would put them up against anybody.
You look at the Catherine Monsons, the Shelley Sons, the Cheryl Batchelders, Heidi Ganahls, Renee Israel, Debbie Schwett.
You take some of these cat coal amazing women, and I think a lot of the men should sit back and say, wow, maybe we ought to let them rule here for a while because they're good at it.
Well, gosh, if I follow that, are we doing world peace in the next 10 minutes?
I don't know.
I really don't know how you do that.
One of the things is don't get caught up in labels.
I mean, I appreciate what Carrie is writing, but it's a broad brush.
Women are no more monolithic in their talents and their abilities than are men.
I'm a good organizer, and if you put me right next to my sister, who is a brilliant Ph.D., college professor, and can't organize her way out the front door.
So, you know, you can't sit down and say women are no more than you say men are.
If men are still perceiving women who are strong and decisive and shedding kind of that feminine or that female side of them for a while while they're in business and they decide the word is a bitch, then I would say women everywhere embrace that word.
Because if that's where you want to be and if those are the attributes that it's going to take for you to be in that leadership role and that those attributes are admired in men but they just don't have the same moniker attached to them, forget what the name is.
Forget what the word is.
Stick to the goal.
Stick to the vision.
In time, things will change.
In time, when the results are there for every stakeholder in that brand,
The word will go away.
And just as, I mean, I don't think we sit down and denigrate a man who comes into a business leadership role and shows great compassion and great warmth and great empathy for its stakeholders.
