I used to go to things like F3000 qualifying days before it was on the Grand Prix package all the time and watch from Priory because that and FIA GT there coming through bridge into Priory was fantastic.

Proper kind of leery cars then.

And I still, I really missed the swoop through bridge, that little dip going flat out.

I loved.

And then it made Priory with the high speed run into there so challenging, I thought.

So, yeah.

I like the complex because I grew up with it.

I miss that bit of track.

So for me, it's the 97 onwards kind of faster complex is the one that's got a place in my heart.

Well, this is the thing.

He I think that that season at Frost wrecked his career.

in quite a big way because he was so hotly tipped at that point.

The big thing was McLaren and Mercedes had effectively created a Formula 3000 team around him.

They were so excited by his potential as a young German when he came through Formula 4 and Formula 3.

First year in Formula 3000, he runs Juan Pablo Montoya really close for the title as a rookie.

When Montoya's moved to Supernova, the top team, and has a year under his belt, Montoya's very good at making a championship much heavier than he needs to as a proving car as well.

But still, Heidfeld really putting him under that much pressure was so impressive.

And the next year, just no one sees which way Heidfeld goes in Formula 3000 in 1999 with this enormous field with loads of non-qualifiers.
