That's a big problem for the Israelis.
Washington went out and Trump went out and said that they were going to be giving a nuclear enrichment deal to the Saudis.
That was hugely threatening.
to the Israelis, even though then the president came out and said, oh, this is all going to be contingent upon Saudi Arabia basically normalizing their relationship or acceding to the Abraham Accords with Israel.
And so this meeting is going to be all about trying to heal that rupture and hopefully for Netanyahu trying to get the Trump administration to allow Israel and for Israel to push the Trump administration to finish the job in Iran.
That is a huge open wound.
That's a big, big question, and that is something that we're going to see today.
That's why there's so many eyes watching this meeting, because this is, in many ways, an ordinary meeting, because this is the, according to Netanyahu, the eighth time that he's met with the U.S.
president during his second term.
He is by far President Trump's best customer personally.
among foreign leaders.
But at the same time, this is the first meeting since we've seen this massive rupture.
So what comes out of this, the language that we hear from the White House after this, and the kind of relationship that we see in the coming days and weeks, that's going to set the tone and tenor for how this relationship is going to go.
And it will answer your question, Yasmin, about whether or not Benjamin Netanyahu is still in a position to influence events in Washington.
The fact that this is all happening
around the funeral of Lindsey Graham is somehow symbolic as well.
You know, Lindsey Graham, a politician who was one of the very remaining few who still see Israel as not just an ordinary U.S.
ally, but as part and parcel with U.S.
interests.
That Israel is not just a friend, but an extension of American influence.
