Namely, and I'll repeat this, the sharing of information and a returns policy.
And it is quite possible.
And how do we know that?
Because that's what the government did, the previous government did in the successor to the EU migration pact.
It opted into those areas in which it was necessary to,
in order to have those procedures in place, and it opted out, as is our right, under Protocol 21, which was put in place precisely because we operate outside of Schengen and we are operating within a common travel area.
The Irish government, because they wanted, Fianna Fáil and Fianna Gael, wanted to be able to say we're doing something about migration, locked us in whole scale to the EU pact, which means that the ability of Irish governments to be flexible into the future, to changing needs and dynamics,
in relation to migration flows.
That is now taking away from the Iraqis, the elected representatives of the people.
And if we don't get to a point where we actually have a bilateral arrangement with Britain, which in my view will be more difficult to secure because we're locked into the EU migration pact,
well, then we are going to see a continued dysfunction.
We are going to see the lengthy processing times and appeal times.
And potentially what we will get as a people in return for having a dysfunctional IPAS system is infringement fines coming from the European Union because we haven't been able to meet the standards that we have signed up to in the migration pact.
Well, I think it's a bit of a cheek for Colm, whose government has spent 1.3 billion euro last year on IPAS accommodation and have refused every single time to provide full transparency or accountability in terms of where and how that money is spent.
You're wrong.
And what I would encourage David and maybe his researchers to do is to look at the amendments that we put forward to the International Protection Bill, calling the transparency and accountability measures that we were looking for in terms of the expenditure of IPAS money and look at the voting record of you and your government in respect of those amendments.

that you rejected amendments that were aimed at protecting Irish sovereignty and ensuring accountability of measures, just as you rejected measures in respect of ensuring that there would be a prioritisation of a bilateral arrangement with Britain in order to protect the common travel area, just as you refused and voted against amendments that would have ensured real community engagement in respect of... Your amendments, Mash, were all over the place, as you know, because you can't decide whether you're trying to oppose this from the left or the right.
So let's be very clear.
Fianna Gael promised in black and white in their manifesto before the last election that there would be tax cuts every single year in every single budget.
