Hey, what's going everyone?
I'm Matt Chanela, and this is your B2B reality check.
AI is not going to make your ads more effective.
They're just going to make them more expensive.
How do we know?
Because if you think about how ads work, the barrier to entry now for making ads is absolutely, positively lower than ever.
It is easier than ever to plug any of your ad platforms, Meta, Google, or LinkedIn, straight into your cloud via MCP and have it tell you exactly where it you where it thinks you should be spending your next dollar.
Let me tell you why.
That is a hundred percent.
The wrong way to go about running your ads.
Ultimately, what these things are tracking on is your conversion volume and your signal.
What it doesn't tell you and never will tell you is just how good is your conversion quality.
How much is it converting into booked meanings?
How many of those booked meanings are becoming opportunities?
And how many of those opportunities are becoming closed one?
Even if you were to use uh offline conversion tracking, which would be at a minimum the most, the minimally viable type of conversion tracking you would need to have in place to have AI even begin to tell you how to spend your next dollar, I still would not recommend it to do anything for you other than give you reporting week over week and month over month.
So the reason why ad teams should not be outsourcing blindly to AI and letting AI dictate their ad strategy is because AI is going to do a couple of things that are going to undercut your ad strategy in the long term.
The first thing that it's going to do is it's going to create for you infinite amounts of creative on command.
It's going to give you iterations and variations.
And things to test, most of which are going to be based on not enough data for it to ever be statistically significant in the first place.
