And as soon as the Iranians fired their missiles yesterday, Ben-Gavir, who was once expelled from the IDF for being too extremist, piped up and said, we want Tehran to burn.
There has to be some kind of response.
And of course, a large part of the Israeli public will be with those ministers.
On the other hand, it would actually suit Israel to try and stop some of the fighting, you would have thought, and not to provoke the destruction of any kind of deal between the United States and Iran.
like everyone else they're also running out of weapons they need some kind of stability they need a deal at the end of the day but prime minister netanyahu perhaps because he's been facing an election in october an election that he might well lose um which would end up you know him possibly you know serving some jail time for allegations of corruption which have been being contested in court at the moment he perhaps he feels that it's better to carry on
You know, you don't switch a commander-in-chief in the middle of a war.
And also, to be fair to him and to the Israelis who have a completely different view of the Iranian regime to the American administration, let alone the American public, for Israel, Iran is an existential threat.
Iran refuses to name Israel, call it by its name.
It's just a Zionist entity.
It wants to destroy Israel.
And the Israelis want to destroy the Iranian regime.
So you can see why they think that any deal that comes up now that is only about opening the Strait of Hormuz is unfinished business, which they want to finish.
I mean, I think there's so much to say about that.
