There's another academic call, David Harris, who equally raised doubts about um
Um Professor Arde.
And again, he describes himself as a race realist.
And so the you know, the people who who led this campaign came from a particular political bent, shall we say.
And then the book sort of fell into that trajectory.
I think that's a very good point.
And there's an editorial in the Haaretz newspaper this morning, which is on the liberal side of Is the Israeli spectrum, but it basically said that
Netinau is caught between Trump and Zmotric.
Zmotrich is his hardline finance minister, who's also a settler, uh, who is very much against this plan, like other members, you know, right wing, far right wing members of the coalition.
So Netanyahu, as ever, is looking after himself, and he has probably calculated that it is better for him to incur the wrath of Donald Trump than to incur the wrath of the United States.

be in a position after the elections in October to form an ex a right wing coalition with him.
And if he doesn't have that coalition, he's not in power and that means he might well end up in jail.
It's not looking positive, and it hasn't looked positive for a long time, but it's not a done deal either.
And remember that he's uh one of the most consummate survivors uh anywhere uh in geopolitics.
Uh, we have written his political obituary many times, and we have been wrong.
One of the reasons why he keeps surviving is that the Israeli electoral system is pure PR, pure proportional representation, which means that if you are a tiny little party in a
represented by a handful of settlers, you could get into the Knesset.
with one or two MKs and that means that you could hold the coalition, as indeed has always I mean not always, but it's happened in Israeli politics ever since the Labour Party has s disintegrated virtually, and the Luk Kud Party's also been diminished by by rivals on the right.
So it, you know, once you once you kind of do the electoral calculations and the horse trading after any election in Israel always takes quite a long time, you're basically doing what you do in any coalition government.
