I'm at worlds, you know, and world championships is the premier championships in the entire world.

So that's, that's 100%.

It's team first.

And furthermore,

If I've done my due diligence from an ethical standpoint and doing things above board, then we would have split the athletes anyway.

Clearly, I'm not going to be coaching two athletes.

You cannot play chess against yourself.

We've discussed this many times.

I think last year in Germany, it was the fact that it was his first world championships, his first time traveling internationally, his first time experiencing worlds overseas.

This year, I think it was more so a function of,

Too many meets clustered in a very short timeframe and clearly some injuries that he wasn't fully revealing.

And I don't blame him for not being fully transparent leading into a championships.

Why give your opposition extra fuel or extra ammunition?

Clearly he came in less than a hundred percent.

So when you couple those two things together,

the short timeframe of all these back-to-back championships, not having an adequate off season, not having enough time to build, you know, not having enough time to pace himself properly leading in and to peak for the world championships.

This is the type of performance that you're more likely to see, you know?

And so I, yeah, kind of giving him credit there.

I think the first time was the international thing.

And this time it was just a function of the time and he was dinged clearly.
