And I don't know how long it'll last.

It may not be that long, but

I do think he could stand to see a few more pitches.

Um in the last few weeks he's almost become like an auto swing oh oh every single at bat.

And I know that Harper in the past has said he likes to take that first swing at an O pitch because generally he thinks it'll be the best.

The best shot is seeing the best pitch he'll get in the entire bat.

And I get that logic.

I think though, because he's become so auto with the first pitch swing, more and more teams are are not throwing him pitches in the zone uh on OO counts.

So um he's swinging at a lot of pitches out of the zone to begin at bats, and then he's behind the count uh and it just hasn't led to good results.

So I think batting leadoff might

make him uh a little more passive earlier in the count and I don't think that's a bad thing for Bryce Harper right now.

I think so.

You know, I I as far as I know, he was not even considered for a major league promotion.

And I I I think I totally understand.

I mean, he had a tremendous August uh at double A and really made his overall season numbers look quite good.

You know, this is his first real full season at shortstop.

And while evaluators I've talked to have really, really liked what he's done at shortstop.
