in those kind of dark hours of two thousand eight, two thousand seven, two thousand eight, we're able to quickly adjust, use those people in this unifying platform to adapt Goldman systems so we were able to kind of see the world in a new way in a short amount of time.

Most organizations who failed could not do this.

So we initially did this for Goldman's internal trading businesses.

Uh-huh.

Um and oh and then over time we adapted this for the wealth uh and asset management uh side of the business as well.

Same kind of problems where you wanted to see everything holistically and then when the world changed, you wanted to be able to say like what happens.

if the unthinkable happens, which before two thousand seven wasn't even possible that a bank could disappear, an insurance company could blow up.

This wasn't even possible.

But all of a sudden you do that, then all these individual kind of trading death strategies

changed.

All of a sudden, you know, collateral was a thing.

Margin wasn't wasn't a given.

So anyway, so I we we saw these kind of things, we real we had we had a unifying platform, but it was these people combined with this platform that really was magical.

And what I then realized

I had the fortune opportunity, go uh Snowflake came to pitch the Goldman

Actually it was too early, but I happened to be in the room during this pitch.

When Snowflake's founders came.

And helped us solve the problem, which was

You know, now that you had everyone looking at the entire firm in order to run their business, we didn't have a platform that could scale to that level.
