I mean, people talk about therapy being what the therapist says, but therapy, I think a lot of therapy is just you externalizing your stuff.
And being aware of that.
Yes.
Because this was my whole problem.
And I see it with young people, especially young men.
I think a lot of their issues are just not knowing their issues.
You know.
Yeah.
And so therapy is like the new sort of like.
confession booth it's the new place where you actually can take stock and take a pause and talk about where you are in your life and that is so important and people see it as self-indulgent or unnecessary i think i feel like therapy like should be a human right it should be free for all it should be not a class thing or a money thing it should be there for everybody
It's evolved massively.
Like, it's probably the thing I'm most proud of.
I was terrified, publicly speaking.
I mean, there's two things going on.
One, I had an anxiety disorder, but also I'm British.
british people seriously it's a national that what british people don't like to public speak no i hadn't heard this before oh my god we're terrible at it i mean like canadians probably aren't us level where american you know they can naturally publicly speak because they have the sort of like debating societies and stuff like that and canadians probably a bit more so than britain but in britain
I think the BBC did a poll of British people's top 10 fears and the number one was something understandable like the fear of losing someone you love.
Number two was this thing called glossophobia and glossophobia is the fear of public speaking.
um and the number three one was fear of your own death so for a british person fear of public speaking is above fear of your own death but i can remember being at university and i did a module on art art history and part of the coursework and part of the assessment was you had to give a talk and it was literally like we're talking about 10 people in the seminar and i had to do this like essay on picasso and say it out loud
And I was like, for weeks, I couldn't sleep about this.
