I was catastrophizing.

It was pathetic.

Like, what was I scared of?

It didn't matter.

So, you know, I'd get drunk for it.

I'd take this herbal medicine, which I think was called Natracarm or something.

I don't know if they still sell it in the UK, but it was meant to be sort of like calm you down.

And I took the whole packet.

You're meant to take one.

So I had this massive rash.

I had this reaction.

So I was just like...

I was just a mess about it.

And like when I got published, I still found it very, very hard.

So I don't know if you've ever been to a reading where you've got this nervous sort of like debut author and they're like literally doing the sort of 10 minute reading and it's just so uncomfortable.

Yeah, okay, that's fair.

That's fair.

But you would have been awkward at my event because it was uncomfortable.

And I would be very shaky.

and um yeah then but one thing i'll say about me is i had worked out by that point that you don't get over fear by escaping fear you head straight into it so i became i got over agoraphobia literally by knowing i had to walk out the house and have a panic attack so i was choosing to have a panic attack
