You don't have the world build around it.
They just go with the idea of a unicorn.
You can have a unicorn just in your back garden and they will go with that.
Not because they believe in unicorns, but they're so willing to go with the daydream.
Whereas with adults, if you're writing a realistic book and then you put a unicorn in it, you have to do a whole essay on quantum physics to explain why that unicorn appears.

Like my first memory of turning pages, we lived in the countryside in England and there were lots of farms around and we used to get catalogs of like tractors and combine harvesters.
And I was obsessed with this catalog that would come.
I think the company was like Massey Ferguson or something.
And there was these big red combine harvesters.
And I was just so excited as a two or three year old just with turning the pages of catalogs.
So I'd just sit there
waiting for the big red tractor on the next page.
So if you count that as reading, if turning a page is reading, that was reading.
Then it was like Enid Blyton books, Noddy Goes to Market, things like that.
I was obsessed with Noddy Goes to Market.
There was a character called Big Ears and I was obsessed with him.

at like age three or four.
I definitely didn't.
