But there is no greater satisfaction than holding someone on their back and having that rep slapped him at.
I think that you don't strive to be the team MVP.
You're striving to win national titles, and that's a byproduct.
What is really important to me and was from a young time in my career was trying to be a leader by example.
And I had to learn over the years to be a vocal leader because my freshman year, when I won a national title, almost the entire team starting roster graduated.
So there was a lot of turnover and you're the returning national champ, even though you're only a sophomore, you're kind of looked as a leader.
And that's where I had, you know, good mentorship and
Tom and Terry brands and others of, you know, you, you have to lead by example, but you also got to be vocal and you got to take charge.
You got to be an extension of the coaching staff, um, from the standpoint of these guys are looking to you, um,
for the way, cause you want, and some of these guys aren't looking to you cause they're your peers.
They're older than you.
Um, or they're just your, your classmates.
And, you know, it's not always easy for people to, to follow somebody younger than them or someone their same age.
Um, but the end of the day, the one thing that nobody can, uh,
Nobody can fault you for is leading by example and just busting your tail every single day in the room and competing fiercely.
And I tried to do that my entire career.
And, you know, I had some great results.
I had some not so great results.
But that was one thing I did try to do on every single timeout basis.
And that does give me great pride.
