I feel bad complaining because it's like we complain six months a year that it's minus 7000 degrees outside.
And now I'm complaining that it's too hot.
But, you know, like like I always say, I don't know why my great grandparents looked at a map and said, you know, Montreal was the choice and was the place to be when, you know, California was an option.
Florida, Florida was an option.
That's why I say I'd rather be nowhere else.
Well, I think we saw last year and last year proved to us that the window is open.
And when the first one will come,
I can't give an answer to that.
I mean, if you put a gun to my head and said, is there a Stanley Cup coming within the next five years?
I'm saying yes, if there's a gun to my head.
That being said, the window is open, but...
I don't know about you, Shane, but I felt like last year was kind of a missed opportunity.
And I'll explain why.
And I don't mean that I was disappointed in that the Habs lost in the Stanley Cup final.
Because like I've said before, I don't think anyone, even the most optimistic of Habs fans, could have predicted that at the beginning of the season.
Now, why I say it was a big missed opportunity is because when you look at where they were in the standings and then what they did or didn't do at the trade deadline, other teams made moves.
And that's not to say that those moves propelled anyone to the Stanley Cup.
Buffalo made a couple of moves that didn't propel them to Stanley Cup.
They lost the Habs.
I can't remember if Carolina made a move at the deadline, but they got Nikolai Ehlers last offseason.
